While The USA Still Debates Helmet Laws, France Has Gone Even Stricter

Riding motorcycle with a helmet is an ongoing debate in the USA; many are for the freedom of being able to choose, while others want it made mandatory. |
But in many countries around the globe, it’s not a choice; you must wear a helmet when riding. France has now gone a step further: YOU NOW MUST WEAR GLOVES! |
That’s right, France has made it mandatory to not only wear a helmet but also gloves. And of course the gloves must be approved, so you can’t ride with your mother’s garden gloves. |
If you get caught riding without gloves you get fined €68 (about US$76) and one license point. The interesting point here is that the law also APPLIES TO THE PASSENGER! Yup, your pillion must also have gloves! |
The law will be applied starting the 20th of November 2016, so until then you can ride without gloves. The reason given is an obvious one; safety. To prove their point, they have re-released this rather amusing video (the video was initially released in 2004): |
So what do you think? Safety-Nazis or is this justified? Do you always wear gloves? |
