Laughlin River Rally

Posted by Team Motorcycle on Aug 24th 2016

The Laughlin River Run is considered by many riders to be the largest motorcycle rally on the West Coast. This popular event is held in the gambling resort town of Laughlin, Nevada, which lies on the Colorado River, near where the borders of Nevada, California and Arizona meet. Its location makes Laughlin especially popular with California and Arizona bikers who want to enjoy a little gambling with their riding and partying.

When the Laughlin River Rally first began in 1983, it drew 500 riders. Today, approximately 35,000 riders a year attend this rally, which has much to offer bikers. In addition to gambling and riding, motorcyclists can enjoy a variety of water activities on the Colorado River. Bikers can rent a boat or a jet ski or just enjoy a little time soaking in the sun. The Laughlin River Rally is held near the end of April, which is typically a pleasant time of the year to visit this area. High temperatures are usually in the mid- to high-80s, while the lows are in the mid-60s.

A pass for this five-day event, which can be purchased ahead of time on the rally’s website, includes a souvenir t-shirt, a commemorative pin, as well as admission to a poker run. It also includes admission to either a custom bike show or the Ms. Laughlin River Run competition.

The Laughlin River Run has also partnered with a number of hotels and casinos to offer room packages that include accommodations and two River Run Event passes. Unlike the regular passes, however, the package deal includes passes to both the bike show and the Ms. Laughlin River Run contest.

River Run typically features some very popular live musical acts. In the past, such famous acts as Cheap Trick and David Allan Coe have been the headliners at this event. Additionally, Laughlin’s casinos typically feature popular bands and entertainment acts, as well.

While at this rally, motorcyclists will have a chance to see what the biggest and the best names in the motorcycle world have to offer at Laughlin’s numerous manufacturer exhibits and booths. And, of course, motorcyclists will want to enjoy cruising the beautiful area around Laughlin, which lies in the Mojave Desert between two rugged mountain ranges.

Motorcyclists should try to book their accommodations early. Although Laughlin has over 10,000 rooms available, the best spots can be snapped up early. Motorcyclists who prefer more rustic accommodations or have an RV will find a number of campgrounds in the area.
